Cigarette tobacco growing areas in India are concentrated in the seasonally semi-area regions, with a very erratic rainfall pattern. Recognising the imperative need to assist the farming community to adopt sustainable systems of crap productions, we have embarked on a strategic tobacco development programme. We have acquired 250 acres of land in Dubaguanta village, falling under the southern light soil zone in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. Besides raising horticultural craps, we have taken up the cultivation of FCV tobacco in a small area, applying improved cultural practices. This serves as a demonstration farm for the regular FCV farmers in the surrounding area to see and understand improved resource management techniques adopted for increasing productivity and producting superior quality leaf under harsh environment
:: Expand Stem CRSPrompting by increasing demand for byproducts, especially stems from cigarette manufacturer within country and abroad, we have developed cost effective two stage steam expansion process, yielding CRS of better level filling value.
:: Toasted Burley ProcessingWe have displayed a process for producing Toasted Burley, which is internationally recognized. Aged thresheld Burley in prized cake form is passed through vacuum chamber for loosening the layers and the removal Ammonia. Loosened tobacco is passed through secondary cylinder where casing is added, according to the customers requirement or standard practice, using inverted sugar, sucrose, licorice, coco etc. During this process the moisture content is raised to 32% and bulked in silo. This is passed through dryer and taking the temperature to 130° C in 3 stages, cooled and reordered to 15% to 16% moisture level. The product is passed again through secondary cylinder with glycerine, Propylen glycol, sugar, etc.; and as the preference of the customers, any flavour like Maple syrup and bulked finally before redried to 12% to 13% moisture level.
